The journey to Chasing Curlz started in the most unexpected place—my bathroom mirror. I’d been battling with the idea of going natural for a while. Every time I went to a salon, the stylist would suggest cutting all my permed hair off at once, but I wasn’t ready for that kind of drastic change. So, I took another route. One day, standing in front of the mirror with a pair of scissors, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Snip by snip, I cut off those permed ends myself. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine, and that’s how my natural hair journey began.

As I embraced my curls, I quickly realized the struggle of finding products that actually worked for my hair. I’d buy something that promised hydration and definition, only to end up with hair that felt dry, brittle, or sticky. So many products I tried went straight to the trash. After a while, I thought, “There has to be a better way.” And that’s when the idea for Chasing Curlz was born.

Now, naming the brand was its own little adventure. I wanted something that felt personal but also reflected the essence of what I was creating. As I brainstormed, my son, Chase's name popped into my mind. His name combined with the journey I was on with my curls just clicked—Chasing Curlz.
